Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk reported that Ukraine managed to return 53 children from Russia.
She said this on the air of the national telethon.
“We have already managed to return 53 children. Now we are also talking about lawsuits. I set the task of clearly recording such cases, finding where the adoptions took place, and we will sue, we will demand that Russia be brought to justice, because this is a crime against our state , against our children,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Vereshchuk emphasized that parents, relatives or acquaintances of children who were allegedly kidnapped and taken to the Russian Federation can apply to the Ministry of Reintegration regarding their search.
“In each specific case, we find out information, record it, and if we find a child on the territory of the Russian Federation, we do everything to return the child,” she said.
On May 30, Putin signed a decree on a simplified procedure for acquiring Russian citizenship by orphans from Ukraine. The decree separately mentions the self-proclaimed “LDNR”, which are part of Ukraine.
