Three children have died since the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion – Denisov

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova said that three minors had died as a result of the start of full-scale military action by Russia against Ukraine.

Comment: “The Russian invasion of Ukraine has violated the right of children to life, health care, and decent living and development conditions guaranteed by Article 6 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. A 17-year-old boy died during the shelling of the village of Semikhatky, Henichesk district, Kherson region. In the city of Chuguev in the Kharkiv region, a minor died as a result of the shelling of a 5-story residential building. According to the operative data of the head of the Donetsk regional state administration, a child died in the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region, ”she wrote on her Facebook page.

In addition, Lyudmyla Denisova stressed that Russia’s actions violate the obligation enshrined in Article 38 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, to ensure the protection of children affected by armed conflict. She called on “the international community and human rights organizations to help stop violations of children’s rights and increase pressure to end the Russian Federation’s armed invasion of Ukraine.”

Already at the end of the first day of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, 57 people died and 169 were injured. This was reported by the Ministry of Health.
