Press service of Verkhovna Rada noticed that the control levels of gamma radiation dose rate exceeded at a significant part of the observation points in the Exclusion Zone.
It will be recalled, that on Thursday, February 24, Ukraine lost control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The condition of the former CNPP facilities, confinement and nuclear waste storage facilities is obscure.
“Due to occupation and hostilities, it is currently impossible to establish the reasons for the change in the radiation background at the Exclusion Zone.” Verkhovna Rada noted.
Office of the President: “This is one of the most serious threats to Europe today”, as Russian troops may be preparing to provoke the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, or “use the damage received during the attack to blame Ukraine, or damage these by far the most dangerous facilities».
