Russia’s war against Ukraine: The Hague tribunal has launched an investigation

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague has announced that an investigation has been launched into war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine. The prosecutor clarified that he already sees signs of war crimes and crimes against humanity. 

Comment: Karim Khan, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague:

 “After the initial analysis of the situation in Ukraine, my office has seen enough reason to believe that crimes could have been committed under the jurisdiction of our court. Specific cases that could potentially be considered as such have already been identified and will form the basis of the investigation.“.
