The threat of a humanitarian crisis: Almost a million people have left Ukraine

According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, almost 1 million refugees have left Ukraine.

The number of Ukrainian refugees has already equaled the number of refugees displaced from Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan in 2015. The UN notes that the forced relocation of Ukrainians due to the Russian attack could be the worst humanitarian crisis in Europe in the last century.
More than half of the refugees went to Poland. Other destinations are Moldova, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary.
