Oleksiy Arestovych, Adviser to the Head of the President’s Office, said that the Russian occupants failed to ensure the supply of water to Crimea.Russia needed the Novokakhovska hydroelectric plant to provide water to Crimea, but the water never went to the occupied peninsula.
Comment: Oleksiy Arestovych, Adviser to the Head of the President’s Office:
“They took the Novokakhovska hydroelectric power plant, throwing a huge effort there. It was the only place for an airborne landing. There were battles there, the hydroelectric plant changed hands several times. Because of the large number of troops, the occupiers were able to take the hydroelectric plant. According to their reports, the occupiers blew up the dam to Crimea. You can blow up the dam three times, but you have to try hard to get water to the Crimea. As far as I know, the water doesn’t flow. We have done so in a way that is not easily recovered even after a takeover.”
