The UN has evidence of Russia’s use of cluster munitions

On February 24, a cluster munition exploded at Vugledar Central City Hospital, killing four civilians, injuring 10 others, and damaging ambulances, civilian vehicles, and the hospital itself.

Cluster munitions were also shelled in several districts of Kharkiv, killing nine civilians and wounding 37.

The UN has evidence of the use of cluster munitions by the Russian military in Ukraine.

Comment: Liz Trossel, spokeswoman for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights:

“The use of cluster munitions in human settlements is incompatible with the principles of international humanitarian law governing hostilities.”
