A spokesman for Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was not going to comply with the first decision of the UN International Court of Justice on the war in Ukraine.
According to European Truth, his words are quoted by Russia’s Interfax.
“We cannot take this decision into account. The international court has such a concept as ‘agreement of the parties.’ There can be no agreement here… In this case, this is something we cannot take into account,” Peskov said.
It will be recalled that on March 16, the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague ordered Russia to suspend hostilities in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the stated purpose of which was to “prevent and punish” alleged genocide in Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine.
In this case, Russia refused to defend itself in court in The Hague. At the same time, Russia’s refusal to defend does not stop the hearing.
