It will take years for Russian troops to leave Ukraine to investigate the damage they have done to Chernobyl.
There are currently four operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine, 15 nuclear units, all of which are under threat due to Russia’s military aggression.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking before the Japanese Parliament.
The President noted that everyone knows what Chernobyl is a nuclear power plant in Ukraine, which in 1986 was a powerful explosion.
“Radiation emissions. The effects of which have been recorded in different parts of the world. The 30-kilometer zone around the Chernobyl station is still closed. It is dangerous” Zelensky said.
In addition, the President of Ukraine stated that hundreds of industrial plants were damaged as a result of hostilities, and many of them are particularly dangerous.
