Soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, who are guarding the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and captured by the russian occupiers, may be in russia and Belarus on February 24.

The russian occupiers are starving Ukrainian soldiers captured at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova wrote about this with reference to the wife of one of the captured National Guardsmen on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

Comment: Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova:

“The NMU fighters who were guarded by the occupiers from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and guarded the station and were captured by the ruscists on February 24, 2022, are probably in the territory of the russian federation (Smolensk) and the Republic of Belarus (Bragin). This was reported by the wife of one of the prisoners. According to her, the prisoners are starving and not given water.”

According to her, nothing is known about the state of health of the russian National Guard captured by the russians. It should be noted that Ukrainian prisoners were probably taken to Smolensk (russia).

In doing so, russia is seriously violating the provisions of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, in particular Article 26 of the Convention, which guarantees adequate nutrition for prisoners of war.
