Due to lack of force, the Russian military is forcibly mobilizing residents of the temporarily occupied Izyum in the Kharkiv region to take part in the war against Ukraine.
This information was provided by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova in her telegram.
According to the ombudswoman, the invaders are trying to involve residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Kharkiv region in hostilities precisely because of the lack of human resources.
It will be recalled that this is not the first time that the enemy has forcibly mobilized Ukrainians for use in the war against Ukraine. In the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass, men are caught on the streets, taken from work, taken out of apartments and simply taken off buses.
The Russians are defiantly breaking into the apartments of Izyum residents and looking for former anti-terrorist operation veterans and public activists.
In particular, all men began to agitate to join the ranks of the Russian “people’s militia”.
Lyudmyla Denisova reminded that forced mobilization in the occupied territories is a violation of Article 51 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
