According to the prosecutor’s office, as of April 25, 3,818 civilians were killed and more than 4,000 were injured in Ukraine.
Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova told Interfax-Ukraine about this in an interview.
Venediktova noted that the figure available to the prosecutor’s office is as incorrect as the one given in UN statistics, as it does not take into account the blocked Mariupol and those places in Kyiv region where the prosecutor’s office cannot go yet.
Comment: Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova:
“Our figures are also not entirely true. How do prosecutors work? Forgive us, we must have a body that we identify as a civilian. Then we say that a civilian died in our country. Therefore, today, based on the information provided by each regional prosecutor’s office, we have 3,818 dead. More than 4,000 wounded (data as of the morning of April 25).“
According to her, at first it was believed that the figure was lower. Now they are counting on the Ministry of Health and the morgues. Information on dead and injured children is collected manually.
