Occupation troops used banned phosphorous munitions to shell at a school in Avdiivka, the Donetsk Oblast. It was burned to the ground, but no one was injured. This was announced by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko.
School №1, where more than 200 children studied, was under fire. Kyrylenko says that before the large-scale Russian invasion, the institution was often visited by guests from different parts of the country and from abroad, and now it has turned into ruins.
During the shelling, only people on duty were in the building, they managed to escape. There was no military, nor any military equipment in the school.
Commentary: The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko:
“The Russians, as always, are again purposefully destroying civilian infrastructure.”
All in all, 416 educational institutions in the Donetsk region have been damaged or destroyed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, including 181 kindergartens, 191 schools, 23 vocational schools, and 21 universities.
