Invaders deliberately set fire to fields, every day grain burns in five to seven regions

Загарбники навмисне підпалюють поля - щодня горить збіжжя у п’яти-семи областях

In five to seven oblasts, the facts of deliberate arson by invaders of Ukrainian grain are recorded daily, in general, it is several thousand hectares.

Taras Vysotskyi, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, said this, Ukrinform reports with reference to the ministry’s press service.

“From the point of view of each individual farmer, this is, of course, a great tragedy. All these and other losses are recorded for further compensation through reparation funds or from frozen assets. However, from the point of view of national food security, these are not the areas that may pose a threat. We aim to record all this and, at the first opportunity, help those farmers whose fields are set on fire by the occupiers,” Vysotsky emphasized.

As for the new harvest, the harvest has already begun in all regions of Ukraine. Early results show that yields are slightly lower than last year’s record year, but still higher than the five-year average.

“Our agrarians did not save on technology, which was laid for winter crops, so the grain quality is good – both for food and fodder purposes (fodder grain). We can confidently say that Ukraine will have bread,” said the First Deputy Minister.

He also reminded that thanks to the liberation of Zmiiny Island and the opening of the second mouth of the Danube River, the export capacity of Ukrainian agricultural products has significantly increased.

As reported by Ukrinform, in connection with the liberation of the Zmiiny island from Russian troops, the mouth of the Bystre Danube is available for ships transporting agricultural products.

As of July 12, 16 merchant vessels loaded with Ukrainian grain passed through the mouth of Bystre.
