The direct speech of the mayor of Melitopol: “The occupiers held civilian hostages for almost two days who tried to pass through the enemy checkpoint in Vasylivka. Among those civilians who spent the night in the cold in Vasylivka, eight cars were never allowed to go.

Some were immediately deported to Zaporizhzhia. And some were “taken for a ride.” First, they were taken to the commandant’s office in occupied Melitopol and then returned to Vasylivka.”

Details: According to the mayor, the occupiers checked all people “too nervously,” and physical force was applied to some unarmed peaceful residents – they beat them with the butt of a machine gun.

Fedorov added that the occupiers did not explain their actions. And the people who endured terror for two days were eventually forced to return to Zaporizhzhia.
