Russian troops “intensified repression” at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the Energoatom company reported on December 9. According to it, the day before, the occupiers beat and kidnapped two workers of the ZNPP.
“Yesterday, December 8, 2022, the Russian military broke into the premises where the Department of Social Programs of ZNPP is located and, in the presence of other employees, severely beat the head of the department Oleksiy Trubenkov and his deputy Yuriy Androsov. After a brutal beating, the invaders took them out of the premises and took them to an unknown direction,” the report states.
In addition, the Russian military detained ZNPP shift chief Konstantin Beiner, who is “directly responsible for nuclear and radiation safety,” the company added.
According to the representatives of Energoatom, in this way, Russia is trying to force the station’s employees to transfer to the Rosatom structure created to manage the captured station.
