Google was blocked in temporarily occupied Donetsk region and Luhansk region

In the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, access to the Google search engine was blocked allegedly due to fakes and extremist materials. This was reported by the leader of the self-proclaimed “DPR” Denis Pushylin and the leader of the “LPR” Leonid Pasichnik.

According to Pushilin, Google is an advanced technology, with the help of which “Russians are harassed, lies and disinformation are imposed.” He accuses the company of allegedly promoting terrorism and violence against all Russians and “especially the population of Donbass” “by order of curators from the American authorities”. That is why they decided to ban the search engine in the territory controlled by the militants.

A beekeeper gave a similar explanation: he accused Google of a large number of fakes and extremist materials.

Even earlier, access to Instagram and Facebook was blocked in the occupied territories.

It should be noted that Google did not hide materials about Russia’s crimes in Ukraine: for example, after the deoccupation of Buchi in the Kyiv region, the search engine published a photo of a destroyed city, but the Russian Yandex did not show a photo of a city fired upon by the occupiers and civilians killed.
